  Next time go into the bank and use a teller who earns real dollars from the bank and is reponsible for any mistake. That is how they will need to learn their lesson.

  If you were transferring from your savings account there is a limit to the number of transfers from a savings account per month... I believe it is 6. Seems this is due to federal law: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savings_account
  
  I use my savings account as a "holding area" for my major bills, so i run into this sometimes.
  
  You should be able to get reversed if it is the first time you've been hit with it.

  You are right on the money. I typically have a number of scheduled transfers and this mistake put me over 6. I did call them and they did reverse the charges. Which begs the question: why add charges to begin with if they are going to reverse it anyway, if you call.
  
  It seems to me that if the federal govt wants to make sure that the banking doesn't get out of hand, it should be doing something with the amounts, not the quantity of transfers. My transfers for the month were all small potatoes.

  You are true, economy is that bad so bankers are going after each penny. I had to close my citi and bank of america checking account as I was hardly using those.
